Volunteer with Bolton Town

Help make
football happen.

Our players have a place to play because people give their time. From supporting a coach to helping at an event, there are different ways to be part of Bolton Town.

We’ll help you
take the next step.

Bolton Town supports suitable volunteers with coaching qualifications and helps them develop confidently within the club.

You do not need previous coaching experience to make an enquiry. Speak to us before booking a paid course so we can discuss the right route and the support available.

    Get ready to help

Agree the next steps with the club before starting. The free learning below can help you build your knowledge.

England Football Learning

Free FA learning.

Useful online learning for volunteers, parents and carers. Start with the course that fits your interest. You do not need to complete every course before contacting the club.

Learning is a starting point.

EE Playmaker prepares you to help a named coach; it does not qualify you to lead football sessions independently. Awareness modules do not replace the qualifications or checks required for a particular role. The club will help you understand the next steps.

You will need an FA account to access the learning. Check the official course page for current requirements and access details.

Before you enquire

A few common questions.

Can I help without coaching?

Yes. Tell us about your skills and availability. We can discuss practical, organisational and event support alongside coaching opportunities.

How much time would I need to give?

It depends on the role. Explain what you can offer and agree a realistic commitment with the club. Coaching and regular team support will involve a different commitment from helping at an occasional event.

Do I need qualifications before I enquire?

No. Start with a conversation. The club will explain any qualifications, training and checks required for the role you agree.

Can parents use the free courses too?

Yes. You do not need to volunteer to use the learning links. The safeguarding awareness course is designed for parents and carers.
