Bolton Town FC runs entirely on volunteers. Every coach gives their time to help your children enjoy football, develop their skills and grow in confidence.
We’re asking more parents and carers to join the volunteer coaching team for their child’s team. Having more people involved helps share the workload and supports training sessions and matchdays.
You could help with setting up activities, supporting the coaches during training or encouraging players on matchdays. You don’t need to have all the answers to start. Speak to your coach about what’s involved and the steps needed to join the team.
If you’ve thought about getting involved, we’d love to hear from you.
Speak to your child’s coach and help keep Bolton Town football going.

One year ago today, Bolton Town FC was formed.
What started with 18 teams and 158 players has grown into 30+ teams and nearly 300 players — but the numbers only tell part of the story.
Over the last 12 months we’ve seen new teams form, friendships grow, volunteers step forward, coaches give up countless hours and players of all ages pull on the Bolton Town badge.
Most importantly, we’ve continued to build the kind of club we wanted from the very beginning — one where people feel welcome, valued and part of something.
One year of football. One year of belonging.
A huge thank you to every player, parent, coach, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who has been part of our first year.
We’re incredibly proud of how far Bolton Town has come in 12 months — and even more excited about what comes next.
💚💛 Happy 1st birthday, Bolton Town FC.

Bolton Town FC are looking for more Year 1 and Year 2 players to come along, get involved and enjoy football with us. 💚🖤

As Bolton Town continues to grow, we’re looking for more volunteer coaches to support our players and teams.
Ideally, each team needs three coaches so that we can provide the right level of support at training and on matchdays. You don’t need previous coaching experience—just enthusiasm, reliability and a desire to help players enjoy their football.
Bolton Town will support suitable volunteers with coaching qualifications and help them develop confidently within the club. Coaching is incredibly rewarding, and our teams simply couldn’t happen without volunteers willing to get involved.

Bolton Town FC received the backing of some familiar faces from the football world as five former professional players signed one of the club’s Freightbox UK shirts.
Paul Merson, Neil “Razor” Ruddock, Noel Whelan, Dominic Matteo and Dean Windass came together to sign the green Bolton Town shirt, which proudly displays the Freightbox UK logo.
The moment helped celebrate Freightbox UK’s support for the club and its commitment to grassroots football and local communities.
“Spent enough years in football to know how important sponsors are.”
Dean Windass
Amarjit Singh of Freightbox UK said grassroots football brings people together, builds friendships and gives young people somewhere to belong, compete and develop. He also thanked Bolton Town FC committee member Amanda Gettins for providing the opportunity to support the club.
The signed shirt is a fantastic reminder of the positive relationships being built between Bolton Town FC, Freightbox UK and the wider football community.
Everyone at Bolton Town FC would like to thank Freightbox UK for supporting our club—and Paul, Neil, Noel, Dominic and Dean for adding their signatures to a very special shirt.
